Obsidian
Easily recognisable by its shiny, black appearance, obsidian is a staple in many crystal collectors' stashes. It is a form of volcanic glass, and is often a beautifully glossy black colour. It has been present on our Earth and in our societies for millennia, formed by the rapid cooling of volcanic lava. It's been used as jewellery, currency and even weaponry.
The Protector
Obsidian is known for its protective qualities against negativity, keeping you grounded and present. Although it is dark in appearance, it is a stone of positivity and balance. It doesn't stand out as much as brighter gemstones, but shouldn't be overlooked! Let it help you let go of the bad stuff holding you back, and make room for brightness and growth.

How to Clean Obsidian
After warding off negativity all day, obsidian might need a clear-out now and then! You can clean obsidian with water but if wearing it as a piece of jewellery I recommend sitting it in moonlight instead, to preserve the longevity of your jewellery and avoid tarnish.
